Mojang has spoken out regarding the title's release date on the PS4 and Vita.

CVG reports that Mojang's Owen Hill dished out that the PS4 and PS Vita versions of "Minecraft" will be out Q2 to Q3 of this year. Hill revealed the estimated release date at the PlayStation blog after responding to a fan's question.

"We're aiming for Q2/Q3," Hill wrote in response to the question, "I know you guys are working super hard on the PS4/Vita Versions, but do you have an estimation of when we can expect it? Q2, Q3, Q4?" by ElWaster.

The Epoch Times also reported days ago that 4J Studios has confirmed the same via Twitter. "The main thing we're working on is Minecraft Editions for Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita, and Patch 1.06 for PS3" tweeted the studio's official Twitter handle in response to a question. CVG notes that "Minecraft" for PS4 was announced in August, even before the game console was launched.

But Sony's game consoles are not the only ones getting "Minecraft." Microsoft's game box is also getting a dose of the famous game. Late last month, Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Phil Spencer told IGN, "I talked to [4J Studios] last night. They feel really good about the progress that they're making. It's their game, and it'd be Mojang's game. We graciously host it on our platform."

Spencer added, "They control the [release] date of that, but I'll tell people that we're getting really close. I talked with Notch [aka Mojang founder Markus Persson] last night, and they're really excited about the quality."

According to the Epoch Times, the next-gen versions of the game will allegedly have better textures and larger world sizes. The outlet adds, "The two console versions have much smaller map sizes than the PC edition." CVG says that the Xbox One version will have "bigger worlds" and "more multiplayer."
