Jennifer López, one of the most influential Latina artists in recent years, was given the Vanguard Award last Saturday for her support of the LGBT community, and to celebrate it, the Diva of Bronx couldn't find a better way than kissing Rita Moreno in her lips, who was in charge of giving her the award.

The GLAAD organization, an entity fighting for the rights of the LGBT community in the media, was in charge of organizing the ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles.

The legendary Puerto Rican actress and singer praised López' work and activism in favor of the LGBT community and for her show "The Fosters", which shows the story of a lesbian couple, before giving her the Vanguard Award, the top award of the night.

According to The Huffington Post, the Diva of Bronx got on the stage and gave a little peck on the lips to the "West Side Story" actress, before reminding the public the profound way the Puerto Rican's acting influenced her when she was younger.

"She changed my life. Seeing this beautiful, strong Puerto Rican woman on the screen with all her talent; in a time when Latinas didn't have all the doors open in this industry, it made me feel, when I was a girl watching from her living room in the Bronx, that everything is possible. Anything. Thank you for that," said López, quoted by The Huffington Post.

On her part, while delivering the Vanguard Award, Rita Moreno said that "It's ironic that Jennifer López had so much success as a judge in 'American Idol', because she doesn't judge," reported Variety.

Currently, Jennifer López is the executive producer of the ABC's "The Fosters", a show that tells the difficulties that a lesbian couple must go through in their attempt to educate three children in an intolerant society.
