Mark Wahlberg, the new star of the "Transformer" franchise, is very optimistic about the future of the film series, and thinks new Autobot movies may happen soon.

The 42-year-old actor is featured in the summer blockbuster "Transformers: Age Of Extinction." The film is the 4th installment of the franchise, which Mark Wahlberg has continuously emphasized as completely different from the earlier three films, may not be the last autobot film fans will get to watch.

TFormers reports that according to the "Ted 2" star, there may be more "Transformers" films in the future. He reveals that he he's signed on for multiple films pending the success of "Age of Extinction."

I have been telling everyone this really is a stand alone movie. Dispite the fact they call it Transformers 4. its a completely different story. It takes place after the battle of Chicago...Its very different from the other one.

They [Paramount] certainly make you sign with the anticipation its going to be a success. That you will do more. Umm, but as of now we did one and we will see what happens.

Emphasizing the the film is a "stand-alone," given its new cast and storyline, it may be that Michael Bay and the rest of the production team want to give the film a new angle and fresh start. The film is believed to be radically different from the previous 2007's "Transformers",  2009's "Revenge of the Fallen" and 2011's "Dark of the Moon."
