Anna Wintour has reigned supreme at the fashion industry's main style bible as its editor-in-chief for more than 20 years now. She has turned the magazine around and made it the go-to fashion guide that it is now, surviving various upheavals and threats from competitors. Through it all, the magazine survived and has remained relevant with today's times.

However, Wintour isn't expected to forever be sitting as head of the It magazine. At some point, a change of hands will have to be made - who else can fill the strong-willed editor's shoes? It's a daunting prospect, given the English woman's reputation in the fashion industry, and as a leader. Even Wintour herself has not yet decided on who is fit enough to succeed her.

Based on RadarOnline's recent report, it appears this dilemma may be resolved soon.

"Anna is worrying colleagues who believe she has found her true successor in Sarah!" a "very high-level publishing source" reportedly told the news site. "It's a surprising idea, but one that is not entirely a joke. Anna thinks Sarah, a fashion icon on Sex and the City, truly has what it takes to step into her shoes and take on a role at Vogue one day."

If you based the qualifications on looks, style, and physique, it would seem SJP fits the bill perfectly. It also happens that the duo are quite close to each other. Perhaps the actress' stint on popular HBO TV series 'Sex and the City' as Vogue contributor Carrie Bradshaw is also an apt qualification for the editorial job?

However, the Daily Mail has received word from the 48-year-old star's representative that the rumors are "false."

"It would be a fun thing for her, but she already has so much on her plate it's not an option and she actually has never considered it before," an insider said.

Additionally, a Vogue spokesperson said that it has never been discussed between two stylish women. "Anna and Sarah Jessica have been friends for a long time and the idea of Sarah Jessica taking Anna's position at Vogue has never been discussed," the magazine's rep clarified.

Right now, the actress is busy with The SJP Collection, which is her own shoe line. It will be launched on February 28, in collaboration with Nordstrom.
