Very few beautiful actresses will dare walk the red carpet with a shaved head for an awards show, which is why heads turned when a British actress did.

Donning a half-shaved head and standing out in the crowd during the SAG Awards is 31-year-old Natalie Dormer, who said that she's sporting the look for her upcoming role in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay."

The new, edgy look is a far cry from her long, flowing locks as Margaery Tyrell in the HBO series, "Game of Thrones," but being a Capitol rebel as Cressida in "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay" is vastly different than being a queen that she is known for.

Dormer told USA Today, "The hair department was very supportive. I was ready to do the whole head but we decided it was more stylistic -more Capitol -just to do half the head."

Asked how she felt about her new 'do, she told The Daily Mail that she felt "a little trepidation but I was excited."

According to the Daily Mail, for Saturday's SAG Awards, Dormer wore a sleek, form-fitting white number made especially for her by Marios Schwab, inspired by his SS14 collection. Adding to her edgy look was the diamond ear cuff that dressed up the bald side of her head.

As for "Game of Thrones" fans, there is no need to worry, as she wears a wig for her role. Dormer also starred as Anne Boleyn in Showtime's "The Tudors" and the CBS Drama, "Elementary."

However, due to her busy schedule, she will not be returning as Moriarty in "Elementary." According to The Global Dispatch, "Elementary" creator Robert Dohetry said, "We unfortunately will not have a second crack at her this year as she's very in demand. We could not adore her more."

Dormer will head start filming for "Game of Thrones" again early in the summer, and will also be busy filming for the next installment of "The Hunger Games."
