Taylor Swift is causing a ruckus in her Rhode Island home and apparently causing the ire of her neighbors.

No, it's not because the wholesome country music superstar has held a wild, loud party at her mansion during the holidays. It's mainly due to the construction project happening right in front of her beachside house.

Notably though, the neighbors are not complaining about the sound the bulldozer is making - they're concerned that the erection of a seawall will compromise public access to the beach, according to reports received by the New York Daily News.

The 24-year-old star bought the Watch Hill property last summer for $18 million. It's said to be "the largest and most lavish property" in the exclusive beachside community, according to the Daily Mail. It sits on the border of a public right-of-way to the beach.

The project consists of seawall repairs and the resetting of boulders at the bottom of the hill where Taylor's house sits. It began without a public notice, which made neighbors and longtime residents in the place think that the singer went ahead with the project without permission.

However, a representative from the Rhode Island Coastal Resources Management Council revealed to The Providence Journal that the construction was in fact requested by the state.

"They are doing just what they said they would be doing," said Laura Dwyer, spokeswoman for the CRMC. She also made it clear that the changes will and should not affect public access to the beach.

On concerns that the project may change the coastline or compromise historical markers, Dwyer responded with this statement: "The larger boulders were historically there. When the applicant came in with plans, they were proposing to leave those rocks way out in the water. We were the ones who asked them to get those boulders as close to the seaward side of that concrete wall as possible."

Phew! So then it's all legal! Let's hope Tay's neighbors will calm down after this episode.
