Pink may be announced as Billboard's Woman of the Year in Music, but the year's top artist over-all is "When I Was Your Man" singer, Bruno Mars.

In an interview, as reported by ABC, Mars said the award is a huge "honor".

"It's flattering. It's just an honor, I'm proud to be a part of this whole team that I have."

It has so far been a good year for the crooner. Aside from the Billboard award, he has also been cited for four Grammy nomination, including Best Pop Vocal Album.  His song, "Locked Out of Heaven," is also up for two awards for song and record of the year.

Among his hit singles this year are the following, according to Billboard:

  • Treasure (No. 1 for a week)
  • When I Was Your Man, and  (No. 5)
  • Locked Out of Heaven (six weeks at No. 1)

These songs kept his album in the Top 20 every week since it was released, eventually reaching the top of the charts during its 12th week.

If those weren't enough, Mars's tour, Moonshine Jungle, is among the year's top-grossing tours, with over $46 million from 48 dates of his North American stops.

He told Billboard, "There's been so many awesome moments this year. The highlight was going on tour and doing the Moonshine Jungle tour with my boys, with my band. And to able to see the world playing these songs."

According to the Daily Mail, the singer will have to fulfill a few more obligations before he can continue his Tour in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia, though.  He will have to go to Las Vegas for a residency at the Cosmopolitan on December 29th, and attend the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles after. He will also have to take the stage for Super Bowl XLVIII halftime show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The top artists of the year included Taylor Swift, also named top Female Artist of the Year, at second place; Justin Timberlake, who took the spot for Album of the Year for "The 20/20 Experience," is at third; Rihanna, Ryan Lewis & Mackelmore, named Best Newcomer, and Pink at fourth, fifth, and sixth; newbies Imagine Dragons at seventh; One Direction and Miley Cyrus at eighth and ninth place; and Maroon 5 rounding off the list at tenth place.
