The patent infringement trial continues between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co., with the Cupertino-based organization revealing how much money they seek in legal bills.

According to the Associated Press, Apple wants Samsung to pay $22 million in legal bills from the two trials held in San Jose, Calif.

The $22 million, however, is only a fraction of the full cost Apple alleged they owe lawyers. Apple stated its legal fees tally more than $60 million. In fact, $15.7 million of the $22 million Apple is requesting is for legal fees while the remaining $6.2 million is for "various expenses" for lawyers.

A hearing has been set regarding to legal fees for Jan. 30.

The latest filing by Apple comes as the Cupertino-based organization was awarded $290 million in financial damages caused by Samsung. With the August 2012 trial, Apple has amassed $740 million from Samsung.

Samsung was given the guilty verdict in August 2012 during a patent infringement lawsuit that ruled the South Korean-based company owed Apple $1.05 billion. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh, however, slashed the billion-dollar verdict by 40 percent, or $450.5 million. According to Judge Koh, the jury from the summer 2012 trial miscalculated on a few Samsung products. The retrial focused on 13 Samsung products, which Apple claimed infringed on their "bounce-back" feature when the device owner reaches at the end of a document, among other allegations.

Meanwhile, a third patent infringement trial has been confirmed for early 2014 featuring newer smartphone models by both Apple and Samsung.

Latinos Post has covered the Apple vs. Samsung Patent Infringement Trial with a series chronicling the patent infringement case. The first installment can be read here, which dated back to Apple's original complaint.
