The Lumia 920 accounted for 17.3 percent of the general Windows Phone market share in Australia, which was enough for second place.

The Lumia 820 placed third with 9.5 percent, ahead of the Lumia 800's 6.1 percent.

The Nokia Lumia streak continued with fifth place as it went for the Lumia 625 and its 5.2 percentage points.

The Lumia 1020 made its debut at seventh place, accounting for 4.6 percent of the Windows Phone market share.

The only non-Nokia Lumia smartphone to rank on AdDuplex's Australian Windows Phone devices market share was the HTC 8X, which fell to ninth place, or 4.1 percent.

"Australia was another country in the reports where Windows Phone made notable market share gains," wrote AdDuplex's Alan Mendelvich. "And we can see that top 3 devices are running WP8 and together account for more than half of all Windows Phones in the country."

AdDuplex collected its latest data by gathering information from 2,087 Windows Phone apps running on AdDuplex SDK version 2 on Nov. 22.
