Like her fellow Latin star Paulina Rubio, Mexican singer, actress, and author Thalía paid a visit to ABC's "The View" to co-host the show alongside legendary journalist Barbara Walters, Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepard, and Whoopi Goldberg.

On her co-hosting debut, Thalía and the panel discussed the latest edition of the American Music Awards, Jennifer Lopez's tribute to salsa Queen Celia Cruz, Katy Perry's act, where she dressed as a geisha. The "María, la del Barrio" actress took time to defend Perry, saying that the singer was not making fun of the Japanese culture and that it was a homage. Thalía even said she wore a similar outfit once.

"Celia Cruz is the icon of Latin culture and the having Jennifer doing that in Spanish...She did amazing," said Thalía. "You should do Celia Cruz, Whoopie!" she joked, "you're the only one that can understand that. I'll show you the movements!"

Then, Thalía gave her opinion on the "Roar" singer. "If they're making fun of your culture and like, wearing the mariachi hat, and having a Chihuahua dog, and doing the coochie-coochie, that's not funny," said Thalía, "But she loves the geishas, she loves the culture." She then added that at the age of 14 or 18 she did a geisha number as a tribute. "People take it so personal," she added.

On December 5, Thalía will be getting her very own star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles. "I'm really really excited," she said, and added her star will be located between Jennifer Lopez's and Carmen Miranda's.

Later, she opened up about her fourth book called "Chupi, The Binky That Returned Home". "I did it at 3 a.m. in the morning. I was desperate, my daughter was crying because she couldn't find her pacifier. So I went there and said 'you know what? The binky wants to go back home, he wants his mommy!" said the artist. "I had a whole strategy there and it worked perfectly."

Thalía later shared pictures with her fans on Instagram. "Promoting my book "Chupi en binky que regreso a su hogar" on #theview Having a great time at #theview #Chupi #Book #happy #fun," she captioned the image. "Thank you ladies! You made me feel at home."
