Should Robert Lewandowski go to Barcelona? Borussia Dortmund teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has told reporters that he would rather see his superstar teammate play for the Spanish Champions than join rival Bayern Munich.

"If Lewandowski leaves, we would prefer him to join Barcelona rather than Bayern Munich," the Gabonese international said, according to Goal.com.

Lewandowski is expected to head to Bayern Munich in January. The striker had expected to join the Bavarian side this summer, but the club opted to keep him in Dortmund to play out the final year of his contract. This sparked tremendous controversy between the two sides as Lewandowski repeatedly stated that he was disappointed with the club's stance.

"In the second half of the season, I gave everything for Dortmund, as always. I played and scored, knowing that I would be allowed to leave," Lewandowski told Bild Sport this past summer. "I was certain I would be given the green light for a transfer.

"Now all of the sudden everything is different. Unfortunately, I'm forced to stay. I'm astonished at how they're treating me," he added. "I have to accept that I have to stay in Dortmund."

Dortmund seems likely to sell the striker in January to avoid losing him for nothing when his contract expires next spring. Early rumors indicate that he could be shipped to another club outside of the Bundesliga. Chelsea is reportedly making a 7 million euro offer for Lewandowski and Manchester United, a rumored destination, has supposedly pulled out of the race for the Polish forward. Arsenal was also listed as a potential bidder for Lewandowski's services.
