To every end there’s a new beginning. While fans may still be in knots from the departure of Cote de Pablo’s Ziva in “NCIS,” it’s imperative that we move forward. We can’t dwell on the past. It will only bring you down. Instead, look forward to what’s on the horizon. Ziva may be gone, but that leaves room for new, exciting characters and perhaps a new love interest or Tony. Yes, Tony will be moving on. So should you.

It became clear in the first two episodes that Tony and Ziva have feelings for eachother, but Ziva still opted to go, leaving Tony with a new outlook and new opportunities. And to capitalize on those opportunities, actress Emily Wickerman has joined the cast as a female character named Bishop for a three-episode arc, Latin Times reports. Bishop is “bright, educated, athletic, attractive, fresh-faced, focused and somewhat socially awkward. She has a mysterious mixture of analytic brilliance, fierce determination and idealism. She’s traveled extensively, but only feels comfortable at home.”

“Bishop is a NSA analyst, and she’s a thinker,” executive producer Gary Glasberg told Entertainment Weekly. "She looks at the world in a very global way; she looks at everything, life, in a global way. That's a big part of the way that our group is evolving. Our agents are evolving - they're looking at terrorism in a different way, they're having to approach crimes in a different way and I think that having that view of the world is something that our people don't necessarily have much experience in."

But the question remains. Will Tony need more time to cope with the loss of Ziva, or will hop back on the horse and put the past behind him? Glasberg says that Ziva’s absence will change Tony, that he’ll step into a new, more mature and authentic version of himself. While a more serious Tony could hint an emotionally closed Tony, if he takes the mature, realistic approach, he won’t hesitate to rope in a new potential romance wherever it may arise.

“NCIS” airs Tuesday nights on CBS.
