As Apple prepares their Oct. 22 event, the iPad mini 2 rumors continue to circulate and whether the Cupertino-based organization would implement the new fingerprint sensor on the 7.9-inch tablet.

As Latinos Post reported, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo stated that full sized 9.7-inch iPad 5 will likely not support the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Although Kuo didn't mention the second-generation iPad mini 2, others are providing their forecasts.

"[The iPad mini 2' doesn't need Touch ID, wrote ZDNet's Jason O'Grady. "Although I want it as much as the next person, Google and Amazon's 7-inch tablets don't have fingerprint scanners, and omitting it from the iPad mini is a way to keep prices down and differentiate it from the full-size iPad 5."

Meanwhile, CTECH posted an image allegedly of the iPad mini 2 and iPad 5. The fifth-generation 9.7-inch Apple tablet is shown with the fingerprint sensor while the iPad mini 2 does not.

Analyst Kuo, however, wrote, "[The iPad 5] probably doesn't have fingerprint sensor (but home button form factor may be similar to that of the iPhone 5s) and gold casing," wrote Kuo, in a note to investors.

Apple confirmed an Oct. 22 event will take place from the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Calif., but the Cupertino-based organization didn't specify its purpose. Apple, however, did not confirm whether the event is for the new tablets.

Apple's Oct. 22 event starts at 1 p.m. EST. Latinos Post will provide full coverage of the event.
