The latest episode of "Hawaii Five-0" featured the double murder of a wealthy couple and an unexpected finding.

The episode "Ka'oia l'o Ma Loko" (The Truth Within) begins with the Five-0 team appearing at the crime scene, where jewelry and money lie visible on the couples' tabletops, revealing that theft was not the murderer's MO. The murderer (or murderers) also left the couple's baby alive, who is crying upstairs. The couple is revealed to be Dr. and Mrs. Philip Van Horn, inheritors of a great deal of money. Max (Masi Oka) tells the team that the couple was shot at close range with suppressors, making McGarrett (Alex O'Loughlin) conjecture that it may have been a professional hit.

After some investigation, Chin (Daniel Dae Kim) discovers that Philip Van Horn's troubled brother, who has a long history of arrests and drug charges, sold his brother's house code to a stranger at a bar. The code was used on the night of the murder. Chin then discovers a crest of the Royal League at the house, an association that was disbanded 70 years ago in which Jonas Van Horn, Phillip's ancestor, was a member. Chin then begins using his source, a conspiracy theorist names Jerry ("Lost's" Jorge Garcia). Jerry reveals that the scrimshaw with the crest is a key that opens a lock to a 700-year old treasure, the Medici Rings, which were stolen from Italy in the 1800s and were rumored to be smuggled to Oahu.

Philip's brother then recalled the name of the stranger to the team to whom he sold the house code: Griffin Moore. But Griffin Moore is found dead. Jerry then tells the gang that the Rings may have been smuggled inside of statue of King Kamehameha, which came to Hawaii around 1880. But Jerry tells them that the statue is a replica. They learn that the treasure is most likely hidden inside the statue's left foot.

Chin tacks down the killers of the Van Horns through a stolen city maintenance truck. One of the gunmen is tracked down and arrested, and that is where they find the original statue. The other two are found trying to steal the scrimshaw form the art museum, where the scrimshaw was donated.

Jerry opens the statue and sure enough, there are the rings. Meanwhile, McGarrett gives Catherine (Michelle Borth) a sweet gift prior to her ceremony upon joining the navy. But at the ceremony, McGarrett sees Catherine's eyes lock with her ex--and new boss--Billy.

The next episode, "A ia la aku" (From This Day Forward), will focus on the team's investigation of a wedding crasher, and their main suspect is the runaway bride. Meanwhile, Danny (Scott Caan) will make a big decision regarding his relationship with Gabby.

Entertainment Weekly also confirms that an upcoming episode will focus on Chin Ho. "There's an episode that's coming up in the future that delves into the origins of Chin Ho's career with the police and I'm excited for that episode," Daniel Dae Kim said. "It not only illuminates Chin Ho's relationship with McGarret's father but also we learn a little bit more about Chin Ho's family life when he was younger and the decisions he had to make to become a cop to begin with."
