On the latest episode of "Parenthood," Crosby (Dax Shepard) is trying to navigate the treacherous waters of being a new parent. His newborn, Aida, won't stop crying until a precious moment of silence gives him hope of better (read: quieter) days ahead.

Adam (Peter Krause) is having a hard time with Kristina's (Monica Potter) decision to run for mayor. Adam is frustrated with the campaign (and spending money for the campaign), and a big fight ensues. But then Kristina says that joining the race allows her to feel like she's finally beat cancer, which Adam can't argue with. Once he finally understands her motive, he begins supporting her all the way.

As for Sarah (Lauren Graham), she wants to be a photographer, but nobody takes her seriously as an artist. When Kristina needs a photographer to shoot her head shot for her campaign, Sarah jumps at the chance to prove herself. After the photo shoot, Sarah is given praise for the photos, which gives her the boost of confidence that she's been searching for.

Meanwhile, Drew (Miles Heizer) is dealing with the issues that come with being a college freshman, such as dealing with a less than ideal roommate-- in this case, an immature frat boy.

The most contentious plotline was with Julia (Erika Christensen) and Joel (Sam Jaeger). The couple meet Victor's fifth grade teacher, who suggests that Victor may not be ready for the fifth grade yet. Julia springs into action to try and see if he can get caught up by tutoring him and giving him quizzes. Joel doesn't take it too seriously, and doesn't believe that Victor is really in danger of being held back. When Julia suggests that maybe they should just hold Victor back a year, Joel vehemently disagrees, and the conversation devolves into a yelling match. They don't come to an agreement at episode's end, signaling a bumpy road ahead for the couple.

The next episode, "In Dreams Begin Responsibilities," Kristina continues her stressful political campaign and the impending wedding causes a rift between Amber and Sarah.

The synopsis reads: "Wedding plans divide Amber and Sarah; Adam takes The Luncheonette in a risky new direction. Tyson Ritter guest stars."
