The Nokia Lumia 520 is available for a cheaper price in India as the season of lights starts.

Nokia India has announced an exchange program that allows people to trade their old mobile phones for a Nokia Lumia smartphone, and one of the devices is the Lumia 520.

The special offer is touted as the Diwali Special Upgrade.

Nokia India listed dozens of smartphones eligible to be traded in, from BlackBerry, Micromax, Samsung, Samsung, to even fellow Nokia devices.

"All you need to do is to take your phone to your nearest mobile store and get it assessed for its exchange value. Buy your new Nokia Lumia smartphone, avail discount and join the smart league of Lumia users. Hurry! Offer's valid only till the stock lasts," stated Nokia India.

The Samsung devices applicable for the Lumia 520 buyback are the Galaxy Y-S5360, Galaxy Pocket Duos S5302, B-5330 Galaxy Chat, Galaxy Y Duos 6102, Galaxy Music DUOS, Galaxy ACE S5380, Samsung REX 70, REX 80, REX 90, and the Galaxy S DUOS.

The BlackBerry devices valid in the offer are the BlackBerry 8520, 9520, and 9200. The HTC applicable are the HTC Explorer, HTC Desire C, HTC Desire V.

Sony devices eligible are the TIPO SS, TIPO-DS, E-SINGLE, E-DUAL, Xperia Mini, and Xperia-NEO.

The Nokia devices applicable are the Asha 305, Asha 306, Asha 308, Asha 309, Asha 311, Lumia 510, Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800, Nokia 206, Nokia E5, Nokia E71, Nokia E72, and the N8.

The original price for the Lumia 520 in India is Rs. 11,289, but the price could be reduce to approximately Rs. 7,289, which is $119 when converted to the U.S. dollar.

The Lumia 520's features include a dual-core 1.0GHz processor while having a 4-inch screen display with IPS display technology. The pixel resolution for the Lumia 520 is 800x480. The rear-facing camera has 5 megapixels while no secondary camera is present and the Windows Phone 8 smartphone has 8GB for internal storage with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone uses a 1,430mAh battery.

The Lumia 520 made its debut at the 2013 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona with the Lumia 720. As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 520 has since become the most utilized Windows Phone device worldwide, topping the Lumia 920, according to July statistics from AdDuplex.
