Mexican singer and actress Ninel Conde announced through Twitter she is officially a divorced woman, after ending her 7-year marriage to husband, Juan Zepeda.

"To my friends, fans and people from the press: this morning I've became legally divorced. Putting an end to the issue," the 36-year-old star wrote.  "Thank you for love, support and respect to this matter. Today I am a free woman with many dreams to accomplish," she later tweeted.

Zepeda also took to Twitter to talk about the divorce from Conde. "Today a cycle in my life has ended. Thank God for all the blessings I lived next to Ninel. Today we signed our divorce," he tweeted.

Back in August, the couple announced through a statement that they were ending their relationship. "I wish to announce that my husband, Juan Zepeda and I, are currently experiencing a painful separation that has been going on for some time. We've been married for 7 years, so we are asking the media to be respectful at this time," Conde said in the statement.

However, Zepeda claimed Conde cheated on him. According to Yahoo, Zepeda spoke with the production team of a television program hosted by Daniel Bisogno. "The husband says that Ninel Conde cheated on him with none other than Pepe Díaz... and he's furious. He spoke with this production," Bisogno said.

During the show, the TV host explained how the infidelity was discovered. "They were already separated, but Ninel told (Juan) that she would go to Cancún to think things over, but when he found out that (Ninel) had been happily talking with Pepe Díaz, he was very angry. Imagine you just got separated, that they've just told you they love you and adore you, but that it's confusing and someone tells you that your woman is seeing someone else, it feels like a donkey's kick," he said.

Conde denied the rumors of infidelity as a triggering factor for the rupture and said that she suffered psychological aggressions during the relationship, People En Español reported.

"I was not unfaithful... I suffered from psychological aggression and he told me he could no longer provide for me," she told People, explaining that the motives of the separation were not due to the meddling of third parties in the relationship and that it wasn't because of physical violence either.
