Super Smash Bros. 4 has been on many gamer wish lists for quite some time, and Nintendo has helped fans prepare for the game by adding new screenshots constantly on the official website for the Wii U and 3DS brawler. Several of the screenshots have revealed new information about the game and the newest edition to the game's roster.

On Sept. 12, it was revealed that the newest character returning to the series would be Peach, confirming that the franchise veteran would make an appearance in the new game. Since the announcement that the Super Mario character would be returning as well, Nintendo has focused heavily on Peach, showing off some of her abilities recently. One photo shows Peach, along with Mario, using opponents as footstools to jump higher than normal. This move could be very useful in avoiding enemies and helping players get an extra bit of height to reach other areas of the stage.

Another interesting screenshot shows all three confirmed female characters for the game standing together. Peach, the Wii Fit Trainer and Samus are all together in this screenshot, and while more female characters (such as Zelda) will most certainly be included in the game, it is nice of Nintendo to show the variety of characters available to players.

In addition to focusing on new character Peach, many of the screenshots have focused on the new stage Pyrosphere, based off of the location in Metroid: Other M. One screenshot shows the stage from a top-down perspective, and shows the lava that players will be trying to avoid..

Another shows a large hole set in the side of the stage. Perhaps this is where Ridley, the recurring boss of the Metroid series, may come out of and attack players as they navigate through the stage.

Finally, one new screenshot may have shown a new stage for the game, but without the exact location. Kirby is seen swinging his hammer while in the air, but the background, which consists of stars in the night sky, does not belong to any of the previously announced stages. Perhaps a stage such as Battlefield will travel to different locations, but so far this screenshot is out of place with the others in the game.

Look out for more news about Super Smash Bros. 4 right here as the game continues to be worked on by Nintendo.
