Schalke 04 will look to pick up three huge points when it takes on Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The German side finished first in Group B last year by taking down the likes of Arsenal and Olympiacos. In its round of 16 clash, the team took on Galatasaray but wound up losing through two legs. Now the side will face Chelsea, Basel and Bucharest to try and repeat its feat from a year ago.

Things have not gone tremendously well for the German side in the Bundesliga. They started the season off without a win in their first three matches; however, the team has turned things around in its most recent games with victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Mainz. The team is hoping to carry that momentum into its first Champions League battle of the year.

"I'm very, very happy that we collected a win today and I hope that it can continue like this," Kevin-Prince Boateng said about the recent win over Mainz, according to Goal.com. "We were well organized and rarely afforded Mainz a sight of goal. Now I hope we can maintain our momentum going into the Champions League."

Schalke will face a Romanian side that has won its first five games of the season and they are looking to make the most out of their first Champions League appearance since 2008-09 when they only picked up one point in the group stage.

Prediction: Schalke wins 3-1 at home.

Start Time: 2:45 p.m. EST
