Laurent Blanc returns to Bordeaux with Paris Saint-Germain in a key Ligue 1 match on Friday.

Blanc coached three years at Bordeaux and led the club to win the French League title, the League Cup and the Champions Trophy in 2009. He also helped the team to a quarterfinals finish in the Champions League a year later.

"Bordeaux is a city I really like. The people there are quite reserved, like me. I like that mentality," said Blanc, according to the Bangkok Post. "I had three great years there and only have happy memories. It is a pleasure to go back."

Now he must help Paris Saint-Germain reach similar heights. The club has won two of its four opening matches and has two draws. However, the goalscoring duo of Edinson Cavani and Zlatan Ibrahimovic has not functioned as expected; Cavani has two goals, but Ibrahimovic has just one tally in four matches this season.

"Cavani's arrival has caused problems in terms of the team's balance, and of everything else. It has put Laurent Blanc in an exceptional position long-term, but he has to find the right balance as soon as possible," said Arsenal Coach Arsene Wenger of the club's subpar form thus far, according to ESPN.

Additionally, Lucas Moura has admitted that he is not playing with the same confidence for his nation as he is for his club.

"I'm lacking a little bit of confidence. It's difficult when you're on the bench to come on and play terrifically in just a few minutes," he said, according to ESPN. "I don't have the same confidence with the Seleçao as I do with my club. People expect a lot of me, but with one move or another, you can disappoint and it's finished. It happens."

Meanwhile, Bordeaux has just one win in four matches this season.
