Uzbekistan and Jordan will face off in the pivotal World Cup qualifying match on Tuesday.

Both teams are engaging in the second leg of a playoff that will determine which club moves on to an inter-continental playoff with CONMEBOL's fifth place nation.

The current aggregate favors Uzbekistan. The two sides battled to a 1-1 draw in Amman, Jordan, but the away goal gives Uzbekistan a victory. In the opening leg, Mossab Al-Laham gave Jordan a 1-0 lead just 30 minutes into the match, but Uzbekistan's Server Djeparov extinguished the lead just five minutes later.

Uzbekistan only needs a 0-0 draw to make it to the next round of qualifiers, while Jordan will need to pull off a win or wind up with a 2-2 draw or higher. Away goals are the first tiebreaker in the event that the two sides draw on aggregate.

Uzbekistan wound up in this playoff due to a rough finish in their group stage campaign. The team wound up with two points in its first two games, but turned things around in a hurry with three straight wins. With a chance to qualify, the team lost to Korea Republic and was forced to put together a decisive performance against Qatar; the team won 5-1, but lost on goal differential against Korea.

Jordan had a madly inconsistent group stage performance and alternated wins and losses throughout; the team's low point came in 6-0 loss against Japan. In the final game against Oman, Jordan pulled off a 1-0 win to leapfrog over Oman into the third spot in the group.

Neither side has ever played in the World Cup finals.

Prediction: Uzbekistan takes advantage of home field and wins 2-1.
