It’s all coming to an end. The past seven years have been a blur of blood and psychopathic tendencies. Yet the memories bring back a strong sense of nostalgia and joy, despite their graphic nature. “Dexter” has engaged fans and maintained a its clever and riveting story line without falter, and now that it’s series finale episode is right around the corner, it’s all coming to a tremendous close. There’s still plenty at stake, and fans are left glued to their seats, counting the dwindling seconds until the conclusive episode.

For those who can’t wait, there are several details that preview the finale and even unravel the ending. So read on if you dare, and if you, pray that the anticipation doesn’t kill you before the final three episodes. Warning: there are serious spoilers ahead.

Speaking of death, Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Deb on the show, hopes that her character dies before the series’ close. “I want my character to die,” she said. “Every actor has to shed their character, shake the ghost off. For my own well-being, I need this story to have an ending.” In addition to Deb’s potential death, circulating rumors have also pointed to Dexter’s death, rumors that have since been debunked.

A recent leak on Reddit indicates that Dexter does not die. Deb, on the other hand, suffers a much less fortunate fate. Her death leads Dexter to quit his life as a serial killer and move away with Hannah and Harrison. And who takes Dexter’s place? None other than Quinn.

For those interested in the fine details, once Dexter reveals his secret to Quinn, who had an inkling of his doings all along, Quinn goes to murder Saxon for mindlessly killing Deb. As Quinn kills Saxon, Dexter watches as Deb flatlines in the hospital during surgery. Talk about a dramatic ending.

“Dexter” will air on Sunday nights on Showtime.
