During an August 23 interview with CNN en Español, Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi discussed his participation in the Broadway play "Forever Tango."

Fonsi's role in the Broadway show marks his first incursion into Broadway. "That famous street where you can find the best theater in the world. Where I, since I was very young, was raised to try to visit at least once a year... so getting to Broadway, singing in Spanish, in this case Tango, which is a different genre from what I usually do. Honestly I've adapted well and I'm enjoying it a lot," Fonsi said during the live broadcast.

During the interview with CNN, Fonsi took the opportunity to say that social media has been a medium through which he feels "very close" with his fans. "Now that I'm living this new experience with Forever Tango I'm getting my fans close so they can live it with me, so they can feel the excitement that I'm feeling, which is a very honest emotion because I'm a human made of flesh and bone and I get excited like a little kid when I see my face on a gigantic poster in Times Square."

The Broadway show, "Forever Tango," has been one of the most successful shows and has been seen by millions of people since its first performances in San Francisco in 1994.

It's worth noting that Nicaraguan Luis Enrique recently said farewell to the same role, after acting in the musical for almost twenty days, which is why the Puerto Rican singer now has the role for the same duration as a guest in the successful show, according to Siglo21.

"Unfortunately, the show will be in Broadway for a limited time, and my participation is limited because I leave here for Colombia for a television project, and I have to finish my album, which is almost done, and will be released next year," declared the singer.

Luis Fonsi will participate in the show from August 27 to September 1.
