It's going to be a spooky fall. Sure the turning of the leaves caters to ghouls, goblins and bats that accustomed to that time of year, but the return of "American Horror Story" will amplify any amount of fear fathomable. As fans look ahead to what's on the horizon for season 3, dubbed "Coven," more details from production help build the anticipation for the arrival Salem's finest.

In a recent interview with LA Times, actress Sarah Paulson, who will play Cordelia, the daughter of Jessica Lange's character, opened up about what's in store for the upcoming season.

"There's a little bit of a lighter tone [this season]. We're shooting in New Orleans, so there's a real feeling of the place that is part of the show that is very different from ['Asylum']."

That being said, season 3 will stick close to its roots, hosting plenty of witchcraft and treachery. "It really is about the witches of Salem pitted against voodoo witches," creator Ryan Murphy told Vulture. "It's been a centuries-long feud and it's up to Jessica Lange and Angela Bassett to mend the fence."

"The witches of Salem, the smart ones, got out very early and they were none of the ones who were burned," he added. "They all gravitated toward New Orleans, where they now live, and every generation has a great witch who has the most powers of them all, and that's called the Supreme. Ms. Jessica Lange is the Supreme."

The "Coven" premiere is called "Bitchcraft," a title that sums up the episode on its own.  The second is "Boy Parts" while the third is dubbed "The Replacements."

"American Horror Story" will return to FX for its third season, "Coven," October 9.
