A second trailer for the "Pokémon X and Y" season of the anime series has aired in Japan ahead of the video game's Oct. 12 worldwide release date.

"Pokémon X and Y" will feature Ash Ketchum once again as he travels to the Kalos region with his first Pokémon, Pikachu.

The preview is the second trailer to emerge for the upcoming anime season that doesn't feature any of the current traveling companions, i.e., Cilan and Iris.

As he has in new regions, aside from Johto, Ketchum is likely to meet new traveling friends as he sets off to face gym leaders such as Viola, Clemont, Grant, and Korrina, who have been confirmed for the video games.

The "Pokémon X and Y" anime series is set to start in Japan on Oct. 17, five days after the worldwide release of the sixth-generation video games. U.S. fans might see the new season by early February 2014, although that is based on the current number of days that separate the Japanese and U.S. anime airdates.

As Latinos Post reported, an anime special is set to debut in Japan based on the first-generation video games "Pokémon Red" and "Pokémon Blue/Green."

"Pocket Monsters: The Origin" will feature the character Red and his Charmander as he battles to become Pokémon League Champion, eventually against rival Blue.

"Pocket Monsters: The Origin" has been confirmed to air in Japan on Oct. 2, but a U.S. release date is unknown.

The "Pokémon X and Y" video games will be released on Oct. 12, exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS.
