There are just a few weeks left before the season five premiere of NBC’s popular family drama “Parenthood.” The season, which will open up with the episode entitled “It Has to Be Now,” will allow fans to further delve into the lives of the Braverman clan with a full 22 episode order.

While much of the attention has been on Sarah (Lauren Graham), it looks like this season will focus on her daughter Amber (Mae Whitman) and her on-again, off-again boyfriend Ryan (Matt Lauria). During the beginning of the season, the two-some seem to be very much together and possibly planning a wedding. However, the introduction of two guest stars may put that wedding at risk.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter had been nabbed for a recurring role in the upcoming season. Ritter will play Oliver Rome, who is described by TVLine as “the immature, egomaniacal, tantrum-prone lead singer of a hot new rock band that is recording at the Luncheonette.”

As if one good looking rockstar wasn’t distraction enough for Amber, TVLine also reported that “Jane By Design” alum Matthew Atkinson would be joining the drama for a multi-episode arc. Atkinson will Zach, who is the drummer of Oliver’s band. According to TVLine, Zach will be striking up a friendship with Amber.

In other “Parenthood” news, for fans of Adam (Peter Krause) and Kristina’s (Monica Potter) eldest offspring Haddie (Sarah Ramos), there is some hope that she’ll make a guest appearance in the upcoming season. TVLine’s Michael Ausiello said that although there are no concrete plans for Ramos to appear, he believes she might make one or two appearances during the season’s 22 episodes. If Amber and Ryan do make it down the aisle then it would make sense for her cousin to be at her wedding.

“Parenthood” season 5 premieres on Thursday, September 26 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
