It looks like things are about to get much harder for Annie (Piper Perablo) and Auggie (Chris Gorham) in tonight’s episode of “Covert Affairs,” entitled “Here Comes Your Man.” According to Entertainment Weekly, new boss Calder Michaels will make Annie’s life harder when he takes over as her handler in a mission to Austria.

In an exclusive clip to EW, Annie is seen trying to work her magic on her target, an arms dealer by the name of Dion Stavros (guest star Simon Kassianides). The clip, which you can see here, shows Dion quickly catching on that Annie works for the CIA, but Annie manages to convince him otherwise.

Meanwhile, Annie’s love interest Auggie didn’t have the best time last episode as he was swiftly removed as interim DPD dead and was forced to reveal to Annie that he had fallen in love with and married another spy before she passed away. Co-creators and executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord spoke to TV Guide about Auggie, his work and his relationship with Annie.

Corman and Ord hinted at a flashback sometime during the season that will reveal some information regarding Auggie’s late wife Helen. “Without spoiling anything, there's a good chance of that. Soon! You'll get a much fuller picture. You'll understand Auggie and Helen much more intimately,” Ord said.

He added, “That's what we wanted to explore this season. It's not very easy to have a relationship within the CIA. You're continually challenged by co-workers, by secrets, by everything the CIA presents. It's a rarefied workplace romance. The challenges are heightened.”

The EPs also hinted at the wedge Calder will create between Annie and Auggie. “He does start by geographically separating them [in Tuesday's episode] when he sends her to Vienna and she can't contact [Auggie],” Corman said.

“Honestly, we haven't even begun the big reveals of the season. This reveal is the ramp-up to the big secrets and big reveals. Between Episodes 5 and 10, it's just a fireworks explosion of new stuff — about everybody. Everybody has a secret going forward that will come out,” he added.

“Covert Affairs” S4E5, “Here Comes Your Man,” airs tonight, August 13 at 9 p.m. on USA.
