Arsene Wenger is preparing for life without Luis Suarez.

The Arsenal manager told reporters Saturday that he is confident in his team's chances for winning the Premier league championship even without the services of a premier striker like Luis Suarez.

"Yes, of course. I am confident," Wenger said. "Why should I sit here and say to you we can absolutely not win the title with the players we have?"

"I never said we have made a bid to Liverpool; now I can tell you we have made one, so at least that is some information. All the rest, I would like to keep to us," Wenger added about the bids made for the Uruguayan star. "If we progress in that situation, we will inform you. At the moment, that is where we are.

Arsenal has reportedly made three offers for the forward. The team suggested 30 million pounds the first time around, but was promptly rejected. On its second try, the English club added 10 million pounds, but was told that it need to offer more than 40 million pounds. One pound was added on the third offer, but Liverpool responded by stating that only 50 million pound offers would be given attention.

Despite the obstacles, Wenger said he still hopes to take action.

"We have one month in front of us and we will work very hard to strengthen our squad, without naming any specific names, because I do not believe that will make negotiations easier," he said. "After that, you can make all kind of thinking about the price of the players, and you can say as well they are all overboard anyway."
