The Nokia Lumia 928 has received a steep price cut for new customers who sign with Verizon Wireless.

Amazon is offering the Lumia 928 Windows Phone 8 smartphone at $0.01 when a new Verizon account is opened, and also when signing a two-year contract with the carrier. The $0.01 price tag is valid for both individual and family plans.

The price for the Lumia 928 increases to $29.99 for existing Verizon Wireless customers who want to upgrade their device or add a new line of service under the family plan. Adding a new line of service under an individual plan for the Lumia 920 is not eligible, but current Verizon Wireless customers can upgrade under the individual plan.

Amazon's no commitment "Without a Service Plan" price increases the cost to $499.99.

The newly adjusted prices are available for the black and white Lumia 928 models.

This isn't the first time Amazon priced the Windows Phone 8 device at $0.01. As Latinos Post reported, the Lumia 928 received the same starting price in early July, and it was eligible for existing Verizon Wireless customers as well instead of the current $29.99 price.

Meanwhile, Verizon Wireless' official Lumia 928 website is offering the Lumia 920 smartphone at its regular price of $99.99 when activating a two-year contract.

The Lumia 928's features include a 4.5-inch display with 1,280x768 pixels. The Lumia 928 also comes with 32GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM and no card microSD card slot. When it comes to the photography, the rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels and Carl Zeiss optics. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, has 1.3 megapixels. The smartphone can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
