When EA teased a new Star Wars Battlefront game during their press conference at this year's E3, the crowd came to life and started cheering, more so than any other game that was shown during the publisher's event. However, the game was not given a timetable for release, leading many gamers clamoring for news as to when they will be able to play the newest game in the beloved franchise. But now EA's CFO Blake Jorgensen has given the game a release window to shoot for, as during a stockholder's meeting reported on by IGN he revealed that the game will "most likely come out around the same time that the Star Wars movies start to come out, probably in the summer of '15."

This would make sense, since that is the best way to optimize on the renewed popularity that Star Wars will have following the build and release of the brand-new trilogy of movies will have. While Star Wars Battlefront will most likely not need a bump in popularity from the movies to be a success, the game could reach a new level of popularity that Star Wars titles have struggled to reach. Previous reports had the game not being available until April 2014 at the earliest, but this news seems to indicate that gamers will have to wait another full year for the game.

While DICE has created a new studio in Los Angeles to handle creating new Star Wars titles, creatively titled DICE LA, Star Wars Battlefront is being developed by the original DICE studio located in Sweden. Patrick Söderlund, the head of EA Games, claimed that DICE "begged" to develop the game once Disney bought the rights to the Star Wars franchise. Considering the stellar reputation DICE has due to the Battlefield series along with titles such as Mirror Edge. DICE has also claimed that they will "put its own flavor" on to the game, which could mean that we could see an epic multiplayer mode full of vehicles and dynamic environments similar to the recent Battlefield 4 demos that DICE has released.

Fans of the Battlefront series of Star Wars games have been waiting for a new non-handheld entry to the series since 2005, so expectations are high for the game. Look out for more Star Wars Battlefront news as DICE works on the game and new information for the title gets released during the two year wait for the game's release.
