The upcoming season of the CBS cop drama "Hawaii Five-0" is shaping up ahead of its late September premiere. The show, which has tapped an impressive list of actors for guest roles, is adding yet another actor for its season premiere.

TVLine reported on Monday that "Private Practice" alum Tim Daly will be appearing on the show's upcoming season opener. According to TVLine, Daly will play a Texas Ranger who is searching for his missing daughter. The character has the potential to recur later in the series.

Other season premiere guest stars include Carol Burnett, Jorge Garcia, Henry Ian Cusick and Rebecca DeMornay. CBS confirmed that actress Rumer Willis and actor Terry O'Quinn would return to reprise their roles of Sabrina Lane and Joe White respectively.

CBS also released a new teaser in anticipation of the upcoming season. "In the season premiere episode, McGarrett and Wo Fat make a narrow escape from maximum security, gunman storm Five-0 headquarters and Catherine is taken hostage," CBS teased. "Now, in McGarrett's quest to save Catherine, he must break the rules and go head-to-head with new SWAT Commander Captain Grover (Chi McBride). Meanwhile, Kono and Adam's secret location in Hong Kong is compromised."

Entertainment Weekly confirmed McBride's role in the upcoming season earlier this month. McBride's character, SWAT Captain Lou Grover, first appeared in an episode of the original "Hawaii Five-0" series. EP Peter Lenkov told EW, "It's always fun to dig back into 'Five-0' mythology and resurrect a character."

Lenkov added, "Recently transferred to Hawaii from Chicago, Grover isn't easily sold on Five-0's tactics, referring to the task force as: 'McGarrett and his merry band of do-whatever-the-hell-they-want.' What Five-0 does conflicts with Grover's own style of law enforcement. And that creates good conflict, so prepare for some combustive tension between the two this season."

Production on the new season has already begun.

"Hawaii Five-0" returns for season four in its new time slot on Friday, September 27 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
