We're still waiting. The hours, days, weeks and months continue to tick by without any word from E. L. James or the rest of the "50 Shades of Grey" crew on who will play the roles of Christian Grey or Anastasia Steele. No matter how loud the cries of fans, the top dogs continue to deliberate, and there's no end in sight. We're still waiting. However, diehards know how to ail their woes. Mock trailers, fan polls and wild speculations fuel the "50 Shades" flame and keep fans at bay. It would be nice if we could put an end to all this debauchery and rumor hustle and bustle, but no. We're still waiting.

There have been plenty of Christian Grey contenders passing through the "50 Shades of Grey" casting arena. Some stick around longer than others while some have remained top candidates since rumors of a the film first surfaced. Now to make things a bit easier, one contender has completely dropped out of the race. So now James' decision must be clear, right? Probably not, but still, it's nice to see that the options are narrowing down.

Garrett Hedlund, of "Tron Legacy," has officially turned down the chance to play Christian Grey in the film because he didn't like the prospect of participating the eventual sequels, "50 Shades Darker" and "50 Shades Freed." There are plenty of other fish in the sea. Not all is lost. With Hedlund out of the picture, that leaves more room for fan favorites such as Matt Bomer and Ian Somerhalder, who have continually topped fan polls and starred in mock fan made trailers. There's no official word on whether or not James is even considering them as potential Christian candidates, but that doesn't stop them from snagging the majority of "50 Shades" headlines.

There's still no end in sight. Despite the smaller casting pool, fans will still have to wait. Big surprise.
