Warning: The following contains spoilers to the Pokémon anime series.

--

Two new Pokémon set to debut on "Pokémon X and Y" have officially appeared on the Pokémon anime series in Japan ahead of the video games' Oct. 12 release.

The anime series, which airs its episodes roughly 100 days ahead of its U.S. airdate on Cartoon Network, has seen the debut of Grass-type Pokémon Gogoat and Electric-type Helioptile.

The two new Pokémon made their debut along with another character from the sixth-generation of the franchise, Alexa, the journalist sister of Gym Leader Viola of Santalune City.

The episode, which aired on July 18 on TV Tokyo, saw Ash Ketchum, Cilan, and Iris discover a Helioptile stumbling on a road. Ketchum's Pokédex failed to recognize the new Pokémon as Alexa appeared. The journalist confirmed the Helioptile belongs to her as well as the Gogoat. As with Helioptile, Ketchum's Pokédex could not read Gogoat.

The episode concluded with Alexa and her two Pokémon joining Ash and friends on their travel back to the Kanto region.

Although not confirmed, but based on the days that separate the Japan and U.S. airdates, the episode is likely set to debut in October, which is the same month as "Pokémon X and Y" will launch worldwide for the Nintendo 3DS.
