The Nokia Lumia 1020 launched a week ago, and ahead of its sale date next week, Latinos Post compared the latest Windows Phone 8 device to Apple's iPhone 5.

Starting with the display, the Lumia 1020 has the advantage with a 4.5-inch screen with 1,280x768 pixels at 332 pixels per inch (ppi). The iPhone 5's screen size is 4 inches with 1,136x640 pixels and 326 ppi.

The iPhone 5 weighs less than the new Nokia device, with 3.95 ounces to 5.57 ounces.

When it comes to memory, the iPhone 5 offers more variety. The Apple smartphone is available in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB models with 1GB of RAM. The Lumia 1020 will largely be available in its 32GB model, however, select markets outside of the U.S. will carry a 64GB model. The Lumia 1020 has 2GB of RAM regardless of GB size. The two smartphones do not offer a microSD card slot.

The wireless connectivity for the Lumia 1020 and iPhone are heavily similar with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, and microUSB. The Lumia 1020 will offer NFC.

One of the big selling points for the Lumia 1020 is the 41-megapixel rear-facing camera with 7,152x5,368 pixels. The information, however, is not 100 percent accurate. The Lumia 1020 is capable of taking high-resolution 38-megapixel images, but only 5-megapixel pictures for images that'll be shared on social media networks.

The iPhone 5's rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels.

The front-facing cameras for both devices are the same with 1.2 megapixels.

The iPhone 5 and Lumia 1020 have the same video recording capabilities with 1080p with 30 frames per second for the rear-facing camera and 720p for the front-facing camera.

The Lumia 1020 utilizes Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system while the iPhone 5 is installed with iOS 6. The iPhone 5, however, will be upgradeable to the iOS 7 when it officially launches in the fall.

The Lumia 1020 has better battery strength with 2,000mAh, which offers 383 hours on standby and just over 13 hours of talk time under a 3G network. The iPhone 5 has 1,440mAh battery capacity for 225 hours on standby and eight hours of talk time under a 3G network.

In terms of prices, the Lumia 1020's 32GB model will be priced at $299 when signing a two-year contract with exclusive carrier AT&T. The iPhone 5 's 16GB is priced at $199, $299 for 32GB, and $399 for the 64GB model. The iPhone 5 is available for Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T.
