In news that many gamers have been waiting months for, NetherRealm Studios has finally announced that DC Comic's hero Martian Manhunter has finally been officially confirmed as a DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us. This brings the fan-favorite character, who fans have been clamoring for since the game was released, to the brawler to take on the other heroes and villains in the game's roster.

Martian Manhunter was revealed during EVO 2013 in a gameplay trailer. In the character's debut video, we see the green-skinned hero use both his phasing and teleporting ability, as well as some nifty combos as well. Martian Manhunter finishes off his foe by transporting himself and his challenger to his home planet of Mars, growing to giant size so that he can squash the competition with a clap of his hands. IGN has the full trailer available for viewing.

In addition to revealing that Martian Manhunter is coming to the game soon, his opponent in the trailer reveals some further DLC plans for the game. Martian Manhunter faces a reskinned version of the Green Lantern, who is not Hal Jordan, but John Stewart instead. This indicates that NetherRealm will release new character skins as DLC at some point in the future as well.

NetherRealm Studios originally offered a season pass for DLC content for the game, in which gamers were offered four characters for the game for a discounted price. These four original DLC characters were Lobo, Batgirl, Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, and Zod. However, several hints were dropped that more DLC was on the way, despite the season pass content being delivered in full. NetherRealm has given no indication that a second season pass will be offered for a further set of characters, so Martian Manhunter may be the last Injustice: Gods Among Us character added to the roster.
