On July 10, Sonostream.tv will present a live stream of Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor" from Munich.

The concert performance of the tragic opera will be presented from the Gasteig in Munich and stars German coloratura soprano Diana Damrau and Maltese lyric tenor Joseph Calleja. The opera will also star baritone Ludovic Tezier and bass Nicholas Teste. Jesus Lopez Cobos will conduct the Munchner Opernorchester and Munchner Operchor.

Damrau is one of the leading sopranos and has been hailed for her interpretation as Lucia. When Damrau made her role debut at the Metropolitan Opera, Anthony Tomassini of the New York Times wrote, "Damrau had an impressive outing as Lucia." Of her famous mad scene he praised her for her agility and accuracy. He said, "Ms. Damrau executed the scene's spiraling vocal roulades so accurately and held sustained tones with such penetrating steadiness lent a quality of eerie control to Lucia's madness. And her gleaming top notes filled the house."

Calleja has been hailed as one of the most prominent tenors of today and has been praised for his golden voice. When he last sang the role of Edgardo the New York Times' Zachary Woolfe wrote, "Joseph Calleja was sensationally ardent as Lucia's lover, one of the best roles of his young, exciting Met career."

Damrau recently performed recitals with Harpist Xavier de Maistre and made her role debut as Violetta Valery in Verdi's "La Traviata." Calleja last performed Puccini's "La Boheme" and will next be seen in Verdi's "Rigoletto" and Verdi's Messa da Requiem.

SonoStream recently presented six performances on its live stream channel including Bellini's "La Straniera" with Edita Gruberova and Handel's "Orlando." It also live streamed "15 Years of the Arnold Schonberg Center" with Zubin Mehta.
