Despite battling an elbow injury, Tiger Woods is the heavy favorite to win next week's British Open, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

Woods, a three-time British Open winner, is a 8-1 favorite ahead of Rory McIlroy, Masters winner Adam Scott, and U.S. Open champion Justin Rose, with all three golfers facing face 20-1 odds of win the tournament.

Woods, who missed a scheduled start at the AT&T National a week ago, has been resting his injured elbow since tying for 32nd place at the U.S. Open, originally getting hurt during the Players Championships and re-aggravating the injury at the Marion Golf Club three weeks ago.

"I was examined after I returned home from the US Open," said Woods via a statement posted on his Web site. "I have been advised to take a few weeks off, rest and undergo treatment. I'll be ready for the British Open, and I'm looking forward to playing at Muirfield."

Off the golf course, Dubai Holding has confirmed that they have "dissolved" their partnership with Woods to build a luxury golf resort and residential units. Dubai Properties Group, a unit of Dubai Holding, suspended the project in January, saying they would re-start later in the year. However, despite paying the world's top-ranked golfer $55.4 million to design and promote the fail project, Dubai Holding stated they would develop a new project, though not affiliated with Woods.
