The United States will look to make its mark in the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Wednesday when the team takes on Belize in the first group stage match.

The spotlight will shine brightest on Landon Donavan who is looking to regain his form. The forward scored twice in the US's warm-up match against Guatemala on Friday.

"We're happy that Landon picked up his rhythm and is part of the group again," U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann said.  "Goals certainly help. For any offensive player, that's the best recipe."

Despite his offensive explosion, Donovan noted that he still has a lot of work to do to win back his spot with the top team.

"I'm not going to get carried away because I scored a couple goals in a friendly against Guatemala, but it's good for confidence," he said.  "It's good to score goals, it's good for the team to win."

Another player looking to get back his spot in the first team is Stuart Holden.

"It is a big tournament for me in terms of getting a few more games with the national team and showing Jurgen what I can do," Holden said.  "But in all honesty it's more about this team and really performing and bringing the Gold Cup back to the United States."

Meanwhile Belize is looking to make a mark in the tournament by upsetting the Americans in the opening match.

"We are looking at shocking the world, so to speak, and become giant killers," said Belize coach Ian Mork. "It is not an easy task, but I think we are up for it and we are going to go there with a lot of confidence."

"Ultimately we want to advance and I can guarantee all of you that, for all the players and the coaches, we don't step on the field without thinking about winning a game," Mork said at a recent press conference.  "It's just in us...that's just what we do.  We're top competitors."

Predictions: The United States will pull off a 2-0 win.

Start Time: 11 PM EST
TV: The match will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel and Univision Deportes.
