ABC Family's new summer hour-long drama "The Fosters" has captivated viewers and continues to do so with its diverse cast and captivating storylines. The show, which has already aired five episodes, continues to rise in its ratings, hitting a series high for the second week in a row.

Last week's episode, entitled "The Morning After," the show tackled several hot-button issues, including the morning after pill and school bullying. Moms Stef (Teri Polo) and Lena (Sherri Saum) were forced to make a difficult decision when they discovered that their son Jesus (Jake T. Austin) has unprotected sex with his girlfriend Lexi (Bianca A. Santos). Stef makes the unilateral decision to give Jesus and his girlfriend the morning after pill they had bought behind their parents backs to prevent their very unwanted pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Lena was forced to deal with their youngest foster son Jude (Hayden Byerly) when he's picked on in school for having his nails done. Jude isn't a stranger to getting picked on for his choices and older sister Callie (Maia Mitchell) has tried her best to protect him, but to no avail. However, some encouraging words from Lena help Jude peacefully stand up to his bullies and for his rights.

In the upcoming episode, Stef and Lena will again put their focus on Jesus and his girlfriend Lexi. ABC Family teases, "The Fosters invite Ernesto (Carlos Sanz) and Sofia Rivera (Justina Machado) to dinner, and Stef worries that they will subjugate Jesus to views that disapprove of his non-traditional family."

As if that wasn't enough to worry about, "Stef's conservative father, Frank (Sam McMurray), shows up and the family dinner threatens to turn into an all-out moral debate."

Meanwhile, Callie will have her own problems to deal with. As if juggling foster brother Brandon (David Lambert) and new love interest Wyatt (Alex Saxon) wasn't enough, someone from Callie's past is back. ABC Family teases, "Callie attends a group therapy session for foster children and meets someone with a connection to her pass-a past that will come back to haunt her. Wyatt holds a destructive party at his childhood home, which is under foreclosure, and Callie realizes he's much more hurt than he lets on."

ABC Family gives fans one more tidbit, "Mike shows up late to take Brandon to an important audition with a renowned piano teacher."

"The Fosters" airs on Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC Family.

Watch a sneak peak of the next episode entitled "Saturday."
