"Bioshock: Infinite" was released in March to widespread critical acclaim and huge amounts of sales.
The game, which has frequently been called one of the greatest games of the current generation, has a season pass available for future DLC; however, so far no DLC for the game has been released, leading fans of the series to voice their displeasure at this delay. Ken Levine, the creator of the series, has taken to Twitter to reassure fans that Irrational Games is working hard to bring fans the DLC as quickly as they are able to:
"DLC Update: We are working on it- have been since the game shipped. Things are going well, but plz understand: game development takes time," Levine wrote.
However, some DLCs for the game has been released. On Steam the Columbia's Finest DLC was release, but this DLC is merely the release of the content that was available on the special edition of the game. This includes the Industrial Revolution Pack and the Upgrade Pack, which features several in-game bonuses such as 500 Silver Eagles, six unique items of gear, and five lock picks for use in the game. This content does not include any new story content, leaving this release unsatisfactory to many wanting to explore more of the floating city of Columbia.
In April a set of DLC achievements for the Steam version of the game were leaked, leading many to assume that the DLC for the game would be arriving sooner rather than later. While some developers are able to release DLC soon after a game's launch, sometimes it may take awhile for a developer to fine tune the DLC. Irrational Games is added on to one of the most critically acclaimed games of the past decade, so the pressure must be on to deliver a similar experience with the DLC for Bioshock Infinite.
