Mexican singer Alejandro Fernandez has shown a new image of himself, after having gone through a cosmetic surgery that left him looking 10 years younger, according to notimex.com.

Apparently, a close source to the Fernandez family talked to the magazine "TV Notas" and gave them many details about the procedure he went through. He said the singer is looking great after the surgery.

"You can definitely see the change. And really, if it is to improve your looks, why not do it? He's always been very vain, and though he may sometimes take his breaks off from aesthetic cares, he almost always tries to look impeccable. And now that he's more than 40 years old (actually 42), he wanted to do some retouches," the source said.

The singer periodically turns to botox to improve his appearance, although this time he went through a bigger process. "Botox is something he's used for a very long time, but this time, apart from that, he also wanted his jowl reduced through liposuction, and some fat removed from under his eyes," the source added.

The source also reveals how much the artist might have paid for the work done on him. "I think he paid something like 10 thousand dollars, but that's nothing compared to what he got: looking 10 years younger. It was an excellent job done and he's done it because in a few weeks from now, he'll begin promoting his new record 'Hoy tengo ganas de ti'," the source commented.

Despite the many details given by the hidden source, Fernandez denied having had gone through a cosmetic procedure recently, according to terra.com.mx. His manager explained to Gente Magazine that the change in his appearance wasn't due to any intervention, saying, "Alejandro hasn't gone through surgery. He's about to launch a new album, and that's why he cut his hair short, is doing a lot of exercise and dieting. He has lost a lot of weight".

Fernandez will be performing next at the People En Español Festival on August 31st and September 1st, in San Antonio, Texas. There, he will be sharing the stage with other artists like Wisin y Yandel, Demi Lovato, Jencarlos Canela, Frankie J. and Bobby Pulido.

The singer is specially enthusiastic about this performance because San Antonio is the first place where he ever stepped foot on a stage.

"This city is full of beautiful memories for me. It is where I stepped foot on a stage for the first time in my life. I was a kid, and came with my father to a tribute they made for him," Fernandez said.
