The Nokia Lumia 928 has received a discount of 50 percent from its exclusive carrier, Verizon Wireless.

The carrier has priced the new Windows Phone 8 smartphone at $49.99 when signing a two-year activation with Verizon Wireless. The price tag is $50 less from the $99.99 previously offered following its announcement on May 12.

The $50 discount appears to be an online-only deal as Verizon Wireless' "See Pricing Breakout" listed the $49.99 deal as an "Online Discount."

The month-to-month service plan, however, has not changed as it remains at $499.99 for both black and white models.

While Verizon Wireless is offering a discount for the Lumia 928, Radio Shack has the same Windows Phone 8 device for $20 cheaper. For $29.99, consumers can purchase the black model of the Lumia 928 when signing a new contract with Verizon Wireless.

The Lumia 928's features include a 4.5-inch display with 1,280x768 pixels. The Lumia 928 also comes with 32GB internal storage and 1GB of RAM and no card microSD card slot. When it comes to the photography, the rear-facing camera has 8 megapixels with 3,264x2,448 pixels and Carl Zeiss optics. The front-facing camera, meanwhile, has 1.3 megapixels. The smartphone can also record at 1080p at 30 frames per second.
