Metal Gear Solid 5 kicked off Microsoft's E3 press conference this year with a bang. On the heel of the announcement that Kiefer Sutherland, Jack Bauer himself, will now voice Snake, Kojima Productions has released a lengthy gameplay trailer showcasing the new features and characters in the mysterious sequel.

Set in a desert environment, the footage begins with Snake (Big Boss) riding a horse alongside a young Ocelot. Players are free to explore the game world this time around, a departure from the series' traditional mission structure. Kojima promises a large selection of vehicles, from animals to cars and tanks. While traveling on the horse, Snake can also hide himself behind the animal as he passes enemies.

Non-playable characters will now go about their own routines, which players can exploit to stealthily infiltrate bases. In the trailer, Snake is shown stowing away in a cargo truck to complete his mission. Other new elements include real-time dynamic weather cycles and the realistic passage of time. On the combat front, "dynamic CQC (Close Quarters Combat)" was revealed, alongside a new dodge ability.

The tail end of the trailer introduces several new characters, each with their own description. Check those out below, as well as the new trailer.
