Despite being in the midst of "The Walking Dead" offseason, the zombie frenzy carries on. Fans simply can't get enough. Luckily, now that production has begun on season 4, diehards are offered a look at what's to come. We've seen set photos, caught a glimpse of a new potential camp, and read a slew of cast interviews, but that doesn't stop us from wanting more.

There are multiple subplots that run throughout "The Walking Dead," however, its primary focus is the zombie apocalypse. Last season got a bit sidetracked, but season 4 will feature many more of the zombies that we've grown to love.

According to Comic Book Resources, producer Gale Anne Hurd claims that the first eight episodes of the new season reintroduce the perils of the zombie-strewn landscape. "We're going to amp up the threat of the walkers, because they've started to seem like a manageable threat. They are not a manageable threat," she said.

Not only that, but as Latinos Post previously reported, props master John Sanders will be introducing a new way to off zombies in killer style. "I've been waiting for two years, trying to walk to Greg Nicotero about doing this to a walker, and he saw it this year and just jumped on it. I can't really tell you what it is, but I can tell you it's going to be the craziest thing on the show, yet. What I can say is that walkers are going to get killed in newer ways this year than any other year before," he said.

Now looking back, AMC released a selection of behind-the-scene photos from the season 3 finale. They don't offer much that fans don't already know, however, it provides an interesting look into one of television's most coveted zombie thrillers. Check out some of the photos above.

"The Walking Dead" will return to AMC on Sunday, October 13 at 9/8c.
