Jennifer Lopez has launched a new mobile carrier for the Latino community with the help of Verizon Wireless.

According to Verizon Wireless, up to 75 percent of the American-Latino population own a smartphone, "making the demographic an important customer base for the wireless industry."

With the statistic, Lopez and Verizon Wireless launched "Viva Móvil by Jennifer Lopez," in collaboration with Brightstar and Moorehead Communications.

"You deserve a better shopping experience, from premium stores that are family friendly, to being addressed in the language of your choice, a selection of the latest smartphones on America's largest 4G LTE network," said Lopez, who serves as co-founder and chief creative officer for the Latino-based carrier.

"At Viva Móvil, we pledge to deliver mobile shopping the way it's meant to be."

Viva Móvil will offer the latest smartphones such as the Apple iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S4, with a starting price of $199. The BlackBerry Z10 will also be on sale for $179. Tablets and mobile broadband devices will be available under Viva Móvil as well.

Viva Móvil will launch in three cities, largely populated by Latinos - Los Angeles, Miami, and New York City. Customers outside of the three before-mentioned cities can still shop at GetViva.com.

With the new venture, Viva Móvil will create retail stores with the aim to have bilingual sales representatives and managers, product test zones, as well as affordable prices and offers.

"As an entrepreneur, empowering the Latino community is at the core of what I choose to have my businesses stand for and exemplify," Lopez said at the Viva Móvil announcement at the CTIA 2013 in Las Vegas.

It is unknown if the Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia smartphones will appear on Viva Móvil, such as the Lumia 920, which was featured in Lopez's latest music video "Live It Up" featuring Pitbull.

The Lumia 920 smartphone can be seen approximately 20 seconds into the video and has garnered over 13 million views after almost a week on YouTube.
