Here we go again. More "50 Shades of Grey" casting drama to sink our teeth into. While the most popular Christian and Ana duo seem to be Matt Bomer and Alexis Bledel, let's not forget the other contenders that are still fighting to stay alive in the ruthless "50 Shades" arena.
Another name that continues to pop up in casting rumors is "The Vampire Diaries" star Ian Somerhalder. He's long been regarded as a favorite for the seductive role, and according to his fans, he's got all the right stuff. Now only if E. L. James and Universal Studios could come to a decision, we'd be on the fast track to "50 Shades" paradise. Unfortunately, the hotshots in Hollywood have yet to even decide on a director, so casting may be farther off than fans hope. However, recent buzz surrounding Somerhalder may indicate otherwise.
This past weekend, the 34-year-old vampire heartthrob sent out two separate tweets regarding a recent movie he's been working on, as Enstars points out. Needless to say, whether it was his intention or not, he got the undivided attention of "50 Shades" fans around the globe.
In his first message, Somerhalder commented on the toll his vigorous flight schedule had taken on him. "Still can't sleep-jet lagg. Working on a new movie script-take'n short break..." Somerhalder's grammatical mistakes are indication that he could use some time to catch up on some sleep and that he's been working hard on a new project.
The second tweet provided fans with a little more information. "Paris-it was short and sweet, thanks for the abundance of love. Great day in London, rehearsing new movie. So. Damn. Happy. Here. In. Europe." Well, we're glad you had a glorious time travelling through some of Europe's most marvelous cities, but could you please give us a few more details?
Although the tweets are inconclusive, it's apparent that Somerhalder's got something in the works. Unfortunately, if he were working on the "50 Shades" film, fans would likely know by now, however, you never know. What do you think?
