Gears of War: Judgment is getting a new DLC pack, entitled Lost Relics, sometime in June, though Epic Games did not list an official release date in their announcement on the Epic Games forums. The DLC will add a new multiplayer mode, along four maps taken from Gears of War 3. The DLC will also feature new weapon and armor skins as well.

The new multiplayer mode is called Breakthrough, and it is an objective based mode. Players are split into two teams with two very different objectives. One team is put in charge of a flag, and they must deliver the flag to set locations. However, the other team is in charge of making sure that does not happen, and have unlimited resources to do so.  This mode should inspire some epic back and forth action in a brutal twist on capture the flag.

The four new maps will all be familiar to veterans of the last game in the series, Gears of War 3. The new maps are all from that game, and are Checkout, Lost City, Museum, and Ward. Epic Games did not state if the new maps are straight ports of old maps from the previous game, or if they will be modified in any way for Judgment. The developer has a history of tweaking maps in small but interesting ways, so perhaps we can see some changes to these fan favorites. The announcement comes with the overhead maps of the new levels so players unfamiliar with the new DLC maps can get a feel for the terrain and where weapon pickups will be located.

Gears of War: Judgment was released on March 19 for the Xbox 360, and is a prequel to the original trilogy of games in the series. For the first time, series hero Marcus is unavailable to play as, and players follow his squad mate Baird as he deals with the initial Locust outbreak.
