Rockstar Games recently released three new video trailers detailing each of Grand Theft Auto 5's playable characters: Franklin, Trevor, and Michael. The media barrage continues with several new screenshots of the anticipated game, which show off each character as they perform heists and take on the police in firefights and car chases.

Rockstar showcases a variety of weapons in the new photos. For example, one shows a character wearing a monkey mask using a rocket launcher as flames light up the background. Another shows the unhinged Trevor using a minigun on foes. Other screenshots capture the characters using a variety of vehicles, such as motorcycles, cars, and airplanes. Players are granted the ability to use these vehicles to escape from each robbery, or simply to toy around in the playground of Los Santos. When gamers get their hands on the game this fall, they can switch between the three protagonists on the fly, allowing for an unthinkable number of potential outcomes for each mission. While many previous screens luxuriated in the game's immense environment, the most recent shots focus on action, and give fans a better idea of how the game will be during actual missions.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is expected out on September 17. So far, the game has only been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, though some German retail sites have the game listed for the PC as well. Grand Theft Auto 5 is so highly anticipated by fans that analysts expect the game to turn around the shrinking video game market for the year when it comes out and trigger an upward boost of game sales.
