Kingdom Hearts was one of the most beloved RPG's of the PlayStation 2 era. With it's combination of Final Fantasy and Disney characters mixed with an engaging story and tight battle system, it was one of the most popular games of the generation. While fans of the series are still waiting for any sort of news about Kingdom Hearts 3 after waves upon waves of handheld spin offs, there is some good news: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix is coming September 10. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix is exclusive to the PlayStation 3 for a retail price of $39.99. The game was previously leaked as having a fall release, and this just confirms that information.

Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix contains the original Kingdom Hearts game, along with the handheld game set between Kingdom Hearts one and two, Chain of Memories. Both games will be getting a graphical overhaul, and trophy support will be added to both games. The version of Kingdom Hearts in the game is the Final Mix version, meaning that several new cutscenes and gameplay tweaks in addition to new content, which has never been released in North America.

Those who preorder the game will receive a special bonus, a limited edition art book featuring original sketches, character designs, and other tidbits of artwork never before released. This will surely motivate diehard fans of the series wishing to get a little bit extra for this already loaded package.

Though Kingdom Hearts 3 is still far away from any sort of release (series creator Tetsuya Nomura has been busy with the often delayed Final Fantasy Versus 13, now entitled Final Fantasy 15), this may hold fans over as that game moves forward and this special collection is released.
