A storm is brewing over in Seattle and it’s sure to take the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital for a spin. The penultimate episode of season nine, entitled “Readiness is All,” will find the doctors dealing with a super storm heading towards Seattle and will set the stage for the season finale on May 16.

After Thursday’s episode, entitled “Do You Believe in Magic,” Owen’s (Kevin McKidd) desire to be a dad becomes increasingly evident to Christina (Sandra Oh). ABC teases, “Owen’s desire to be a parent gets stronger as he becomes closer to Ethan.” Although he tells Christina that he just wants her, his strong parental feelings could lead to the couple’s eventual demise.

Speaking of parents, “one wrong move puts the lives of Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and her baby in jeopardy,” ABC teases. In a promo for the upcoming episode, Meredith can be seen falling down the stairs in the hospital. But surely show creator Shonda Rhimes wouldn’t take away Mer-Der’s baby?

“Meanwhile, Jo (Camilla Luddington) looks to Alex (Justin Chambers) in a moment of crisis,” ABC adds. Fans will remember the nasty bruises Jo’s boyfriend, Dr. Jason Myers (Charles Michael Davis) gave her during a violent confrontation. In the episode’s promo, Alex can be seen rushing to give him a piece of his mind and then some. However, the promo also shows a glimps of what looks like a large object--a tree or a car--smashing into Alex's house.

ABC also adds this tidbit to their episode teaser, “one doctor gets the shock of her life.” Could it have something to do with Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and returning guest star Hilarie Burton, who plays Dr. Lauren Boswell, and their very flirtatious attitude towards each other? A recent revelation from Rhimes to TVLine may hint at that.

“We’re equal opportunity over here at ‘Grey’s Anatomy,” Rhimes said of a possible cheating fiasco. “Straight people have their cheating moments all of the time. We’ve created this relationship that’s very interesting and complex, and I feel like we’re at a moment where this [temptation] feels earned. We’re doing something that feels very with what’s right for these characters.”

“Readiness is All,” will also including returning guest stars Justin Bruening, who play’s April’s (Sarah Drew) paramedic boyfriend and Jennifer Bassey, who play’s Ethan’s grandmother.

'Grey's Anatomy' S9E23, "Readiness is All," airs on Thursday, May 9 at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
